Revise the following paragraphs to eliminate comma splices and run-on sentences. Use all four methods of correction.

Revisi paragraf berikut untuk menghilangkan comma splice dan run-on sentence. Gunakan semua empat metode pembetulan.

College student often worry about their reading rates, they must usually read a great deal in order to stay on schedule in their course work. Speed reading may be of help, however, by speed reading I do not mean the kind of cabaret act where a speed reader reads a novel in three minutes. This extremely fast reading does not allow a reader the kind of comprehension a college student must have in order to succeed. Most people read at an average of around 250 words per minute, the speed varies, of course, with the nature of the material being read. The more difficult the material, the slower a reader's speed is likely to be. But with most material, a speed of less than 200 words per minute is considered a poor rate, any rate over 400 words per minute is considered excellent.
Three bad reading habits prevent most people from increasing their speeds. The first of these habits is reading word-by-word, this habit causes a reader to need to move his or her eyes from each word to the next, causing a slowdown in the physical act of reading. Another bad habit is vocalizing, or the reader's pronouncing words as he or she reads. A habit acquired in the process of first learning to read, vocalizing slows a reader down since very few people can speak over 200 words per minute. But the most common bad habit is regressive fixation this means that the reader moves his or her eyes backward, reading the last few words. Regression is also a habit acquired while learning to read but it is of little use once a reader is fairly proficient.
If you read slowly, or if you have one or more of these bad habits, you should consider taking a speed reading course, these courses are very successful and generally take only about ten hours to complete.
